Personal information protection policy
What we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to take it back. Written to meet Québec's Law 25 (An Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information).
Three items must be provided by Construction TJL before this page goes public: the name and title of the person responsible for the protection of personal information, the company's real mailing address, and the email address that will receive access requests. The contact details below are still the site's placeholder ones.
In short: we collect only what you write in a form. No advertising, no profiling, no resale. No analytics cookie is set without your consent.
1. Who is responsible for your information
Construction TJL is responsible for the personal information collected through this site.
Law 25 requires that a named person be responsible for the protection of personal information and that their contact details be published. That designation must be entered here before the site goes live.
2. What we collect
We collect only what you send us, plus what any web server records technically.
We never ask for sensitive information. No field in our forms concerns health, origins, opinions or personal financial situation.
3. Why we collect it
We do not use your information for unsolicited prospecting, and we do not use it for purposes other than those stated here without asking your permission.
4. Your consent, and how to withdraw it
By filling in a form, you consent to our processing the information it contains for the purposes described above. That consent is requested for a specific purpose, and it is free: nothing requires you to fill in an optional field.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to the address in section 1. We will then stop processing and destroy the information, except what the law or an active contract requires us to keep.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
Current state of the site: no analytics or advertising cookie is set. The only cookie in use records your choice in the consent banner, so it is not shown to you on every page.
We plan to add an analytics tool (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics). When that happens, those tools will stay blocked until you accept: Google's consent mode is configured to "denied" by default and is loaded before any other tracking script. This page will be updated at that time, with the list of cookies involved and their lifetime.
You can review or change your choice at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your information. Three providers have access to it, solely to run the site:
Because information is communicated outside Québec, Law 25 requires a privacy impact assessment before that communication. That assessment must be carried out and documented by Construction TJL; it has not been done as of the date at the bottom of this page.
7. How long we keep it
Requests received through a form are kept in the site for 24 months, then destroyed. Documents you upload are kept for as long as your project is under review, then destroyed if no contract follows. Server logs are kept for a few weeks. A file that becomes a contract follows the retention obligations specific to construction records.
8. How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS, back-office access is restricted and watched by an application firewall, and the email-sending credentials are stored out of reach of the web. No measure is perfect: should a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious injury occur, we would notify the people concerned and the Commission d'accès à l'information, as the law requires.
9. Your rights
The law gives you the right to know what we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to take back control of it.
Write to the address in section 1 to exercise any of these rights. We reply within 30 days. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may file a complaint with Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information at cai.gouv.qc.ca.
No decision concerning you is made on this site by automated processing.
Last updated: August 13, 2026. Any change to this policy will be published on this page. If a change affects the purposes for which we use your information, your consent will be requested again.
